Jones Named First PCA North Baseball Head Coach - May 25, 2022
Coach Jones was a three sport athlete at Decatur High School where he graduated in 2004. He played baseball for four years at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene. He graduated with a BBS Social Studies Composite degree in 2008. After college, Coach Jones got the opportunity to go back home and work with his dad as a teacher/coach in Decatur for six years. He was part of several district titles and deep playoff runs while coaching baseball in Decatur.
He was on the inaugural staff at Frisco Independence High School in 2014 and helped start the baseball program there. In 2018, Coach Jones worked as the head coach at Nocona High School where he led the baseball team to its first double digit win season in over a decade. The following season he was an assistant on the Lovejoy baseball staff that reached the Regional Semi-Finals.
Coach Jones has helped many young men on journey to become college baseball players and looks forward to doing the same for our North Lions. More importantly, Coach Jones plans to use baseball at North as a platform to influence young men for the good of God’s kingdom. He and his wife Katie have been married for 10 years and have two boys, Walker (6) and Ethan (4).
