STEM
What is STEM?
STEM is an acronym which stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. PCA uses STEM to advance an interdisciplinary program where the subjects they learn in STEM are blended with real-world application!
Why STEM?
- Scripture indicates that creation is one of the ways God uses to tell us about Himself.
- We want to re-ignite these fields of study with Christian thought and perspective for our students.
- Our goal is to inspire and kindle in students a desire and passion to pursue knowledge and careers in these fields of study.
Dr. Alan Wagner STEM Endowed Chair
Named in honor of PCA Grandfather Dr. Alan Wagner’s career and contribution in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). This permanently endowed Chair recognizes excellence in teaching and scholarship and supports the teaching, professional development and curriculum enhancement of outstanding faculty members.
Interested in supporting your child?
We are asking parents who have STEM-related backgrounds and careers to be involved in supporting roles (e.g., advisory panel members, mentors, guest speakers). If you are a parent who could help, please let us know.
As with everything we do, our STEM program is designed to produce followers of Christ who have an appreciation of science and the creative nature of God.
Dr. Mike Goddard,
Superintendent
The focus of our STEM program is to prepare and inspire students for successful STEM careers in order to bring honor to God, others and themselves.
Greg Wright, PCA North Upper/Middle School Principal
The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard. Their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them he has set a tent for the sun, which comes out like a bridegroom leaving his chamber, and, like a strong man, runs its course with joy. Its rising is from the end of the heavens, and its circuit to the end of them, and there is nothing hidden from its heat.
